Brief updates

Hi Creatives!

In answer to some request to give some more information about this project, I have the following. I hope it helps:

I want the cover to be based on one of the stories in the collection - "Rolls Royce" of poverty - which I have also chosen for the title of the book. Here is a brief synopsis/image of that story along with very short descriptions of the other 13 stories.

* "Rolls Royce" of poverty
The tale of a young man who lived with his parents in a slum. Involves truancy, small time gangs, overcrowded accommodation in small tent-like apartments made out of rusty corrugated iron sheets, open drains etc. The young man often came into contact with luxury, through a visiting family friend, or things seen magazines, video etc. There is also a nearby city where there are big houses and a better life (Maybe a picture of a big, splendid white house with a manned gate, in a luxurious environment contrasted with a settlement of rusted curugated iron shacks with open drains and other ebmlems of poverty). The story is about tha contrast between those who live a very poor existence in a run down slum and those who live in a nearby city in wealth and luxury.

* In another world
The strangest events were taking place in the house of Prof T McDonald which he is unable to resolve with his knowledge of advanced mathematics
(Involves religious theme)

* Hand of fate
The tragic case of a cataleptic vagrant who shuttled seamlessly between fantasy and reality

* He did not return home that night
A world of false identities, underworld machinations and police duplicity

* My name is Jerry
What happened when a homeless stranger came off the street and stayed with a family

* A Judas in our midst
Travails of a depressed vicar

* Because I'm made out of money
An identity con-person preying on lecturers in university campuses

* Stranger in the house
A stranger hijacks a family holiday

* The new village teacher
A successful scientist returns to his African country to face corruption in his hometown

* Once upon a time bomb
A middle aged man is led in an adventure in the back streets of London and faces blackmail

* They were not identical
The tale of two very different twins who are unfriendly to each other as a result of past family events.

* An unwholesome trinity
A case of Multiple personality disorder

* Weight of friendship
Friendship, romance and farce

* Farewell, cruel world
An unfortunate events manager who organizes a party for 'Death' and his chums

Some creatives may have been misled by my inclusion of 'Black and white' in the dimension section of the spec.
Please note that this has nothing to do with the cover. The cover should be in full colour.

Concern has been raised about the use of Rolls-Royce as part of the story. Please note that there is no issue with this.
There is nothing in the book to discredit the Rolls-Royce brand. It is not a campaign of malice against Rolls Royce.
The use of the phrase "Rolls-Royce" is in common usage and in the Collins dictionary as well as others. It is used in the sense of "the highest quality of something" - in this case, ironically, "the highest quality of poverty"

Please, if you are including the image of a person in your design, let it be a young man of African origin, as the story is set in a fictitious African country
