Business Name

Jim Coleman

What do you do?

I am retired. Master of the Moon is a novel drawing on my experiences as a UNDP volunteer in Kathmandu in the late '60s

How many pages of print design do you need?

Front cover for Kindle and book versions, and also back cover for the book

List the size requirement(s) for your print design

Normal paperback size (6"x 9"). The design should also work for the Kindle edition of the book

What is your industry?

Describe the target audience for your print design

Novel readers, volunteers to India and Nepal, people interested in Nepalese cultures and religions.

What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your print design?

The novel weaves together a love story based in Kathmandu and a trek in the Himalayas to a holy lake. So the three things would be:

Eastern spirituality (Hindu/Buddhist)

What print design styles do you like?

The design should reflect styles that bring to mind Nepal and its cultures. The designer should draw inspiration from the art of Nepal

What colors do you want to see in your print design?

The images specified above should dictate the colours

What colors do you NOT want to see in your print design?

What adjectives should best describe your print design?

Mysterious, spiritual, romantic, moon-lit

How will you use the print design?

Front and, for a book version, back cover of a novel

What content must be included in the print design?

Master of the Moon is based on a love story in Kathmandu and a pilgrimage to a lake in the high Himalayas.

I would like a picture of Shiva and his consort Parvati, as they appear in a window at the top of a temple in Durbar Square in the heart of Kathmandu. You can see this on the following link, and a close-up of the divine couple in one of the small pictures above the main image:-

This image, or another of the same divine couple (but what about copyright?)to be combined with a picture of a lake in the mountains, with the moon reflected in it

Don't forget that this is the cover and back and spine of a book needs to be considered as a whole, and that the title of the book and name of author will need to be included in the design.

Some ideas are getting very close to what I am looking for. I am extending the deadline to allow for a little more time to allow the current participants and maybe some new entries to get to the jackpot.
