Creative brief

Business Name

Bat Mitzvah Clubs International

What do you do?

We provide a fun-filled and fulfilling program for public schooling girls who are approaching their 12th birthday (known as Bat Mitzvah) 'coming of age'. Consists of monthly club meetings with lots of fun, food, and friends...with meaningful insightful discussions, activities, crafts, games and trips as part of discovering 'who i am,' giving the girls a great feeling about themselves, empowering them to be confident, proud jewish women; exploring their heritage, history, customs, identity, etc. This program addresses all of a young teen's needs at this pivotal time in their lives, while imparting to them morals and values in a way that they love it. We facilitate the Club Leaders user-friendly attractive materials, and we enhance the Club Members' experience by creating exciting educational/fun materials. Exclusive to girls - moms are sometimes invited! - this is a club for girls, starring girls, run by girls. We are global and aim to get the attention of all modern 11-12 year old girls who are jewish, but know absolutely nothing about their jewish identities. See us on the web at

How many pages of print design do you need?

5 cards that are packaged together in a teen girl's Club Kit. Each card presents a different information concept, but the design has to reflect that the 5 cards are packaged together. On a much smaller note and of simpler scope, a few 3" x 5" cards that each feature a motivational quote.

List the size requirement(s) for your print design

7" x 10" cards, 3" x 5" cards (this one's relatively simple), and a bookmark or two.

What is your industry?

Children's Extra Curricular Programs

Describe the target audience for your print design

11-12 year old modern (mostly American) girls, who like a sophisticated feel with a touch of fun. Don't want the grungie look.

What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your print design?

1. We think you're great, to us "YOU REALLY MATTER!" and we understand exactly what it's like to be an 11-12 yr old today.
2. We have something VERY UNIQUE to tell you, something you probably never knew. And you're going to find it really interesting.
3. We see you the way you like to be viewed - as 'older' than you really are - and are going to treat you in a somewhat sophisticated way, with a mix of fun. Just what you love.

What print design styles do you like?

hmm...whatever will speak to the majority of tween girls around the world, most American. The style should do both: address their 'likes' of today, while make them feel a bit older than they are. (Cannot use immodestly dressed pics of people, or animals.)

What colors do you want to see in your print design?

I would have to get you the color pallete from my previous designers, but maybe you can tell by seeing the materials on and looking at the complete catalogue which I uploaded here. I guess I want young, fresh, happy colors (not childish).

What colors do you NOT want to see in your print design?

anything that reflects seriousness, old/adult appeal, drab...

What adjectives should best describe your print design?

sophistication, fun, fresh, interesting.

How will you use the print design?

i will print the materials and they will be given to 11-12 yr old girls all around the world. I want the materials to be something that will lay around a living room and anyone passing by and picks it up, will say: "wow, this looks great. this program looks phenomenal. So professional! I must tell (my daughter, my niece, my friend, neighbor) about this!"

What content must be included in the print design?

I will provide all of the necessary content on Word docs, although I have attached pics of the current 7" x 10" Thematic Cards, the 3" x 5" Motivational Cards, and two bookmarks in folder "Promotional Package." (The folder includes some other design needs that I would like to discuss as well, such as the Journal, Posters, and Global Page)
