Target Audience

What is your industry?

Describe the target audience for your print design

ABC1 males 40+ with an interest in WW2 mystery thrillers/Ancient Egypt/David Bowie.

What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your print design?

Modern, fast paced thriller set in 1976. The main protagonist is male. The cover should exude style, innovative design & yet also be retro to the 70's & WW2. The '76 heat wave.

Style and Concept

What print design styles do you like?

Think James Bond movie opening titles - those swirling shapes that melt & morph. The bodies in solid block colour. Modern/clean/white. Design montage/Indian Paisley.

What colors do you want to see in your print design?

Orange, ochre, mustard yellow, lots of white, brown, faun.

What colors do you NOT want to see in your print design?

Pastel shades or primary colours. Or the ubiquitous shadowy loan figure standing in front of the Bradenburg Gate for instance as with most modern thrillers about the war or spies.

What adjectives should best describe your print design?

Bold, clean, new, innovative, David Bowie, 1970's, escaping/running man, branding, iconic, modern, fast.

How will you use the print design?

Print on demand paperback, followed by e-book & hardback versions. The book cover will form the colour scheme/palette for a website & Facebook page. The novel is the first of a trilogy and therefore it is important that the branding works across 3 different novels.

What content must be included in the print design?

An escaping/running man in block colour. Swirling pattern/Paisley. Swastikas & Egyptian hieroglyphs but subdued, in the background perhaps forming a pattern scheme. White & orange/ochre colour scheme. The title of the book: The Butcher's Son. The author name: Jeremy Good. A lot of white so that the design cover stands out. Back cover blurb, (to be supplied on request). Spine title & author name.
