What do you do?
We're in finance, but it doesn't really matter, we're just looking for clean typography and minimalist design elements.
How many pages of illustration do you need?
I have 20 slides in total, but you can start with one or two templates for evaluation purposes.
What do you need illustrated?
The project is a series of text images, or quote images, or typography posters (these things go by different names), but they're the types of quotes you see on Pinterest for example. Please have a look at the attached images, you will see. We are thus looking for an artful arrangements of letters. The slides will go in a fullscreen image gallery that serves as the homepage of our website. Your job is to play around and choose the background, fonts, typesetting, font sizes/colours, alignment, arrangement and any other design elements you wish . (Our bias is towards minimalist design, where the words shine). Once selected, winner will be in charge of creating all the slide images. To be clear, the winner will be chosen on the basis of a template, but the work includes typesetting for all 20 slides. The length of text in each slide is variable, the longest is 885 characters. (We have the text ready, so once you have the template, it should be easy to create the slides). There are two types of slides: 1) slides with quotes...ie some famous quote that's one or two sentences and 2) transition slides (which announce the topic of the subsequent slides), ie "On business", "On life", etc. Please use random text for the purposes of evaluation. Or you can use this quote, if it helps: When I die, I want to go peacefully like my grandfather didin his sleep. Not yelling and screaming like the passengers in his car. - Some guy
Does your illustration need to be a particular size?
It is meant for a "fullscreen" website. 1600px X 725px You should be attuned to using fonts in images in a way that they don't get blurry or pixelated. Suggest PNG format.
Target Audience
What is your industry?
Other
Describe the target audience for your illustration
Even though we're in a "serious" industry, we're a bold company, so we're open-minded. We don't care about our audience. We'll find an audience. But we're not looking for whimsical stuff.
What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your illustration?
a polished, clean, modern, high spec design
Style and Concept
What lillustration styles do you like?
It might be helpful to know that the website will be developed on Squarespace...we like their aesthetic. Also, the website is fullscreen, (and the slide template you're creating takes up most of the page), so the text should occupy a good portion of the image).
What colors do you want to see in your illustration?
we would be fine with B&W text, but just as open to colour as well. yes, the preceding sentence is not useful.
What colors do you NOT want to see in your illustration?
we're open-minded
What adjectives should best describe your illustration?
a polished, clean, modern, high spec design
Where will you use the illustration (print, website, etc.)?
website
