The movie poster will not feature the faces of the actors as they have yet to be identified. The central character, Colin Hyde, is a mid-30s ex sniper for the Army Rangers (Congressional Medal of Honor winner). He has PTSD issues from serving in Afghanistan and Iraq, and seven years ago he lost his 4 year old daughter who drowned while he was overmedicated, then his wife died in a bombing incident. Hyde returns to his former home, now within the cordoned off Safety Zone of the bomb blast, and tries to make peace with his past. He brings with him Sasha, a new friend, who is spunky and knows Krav Maga and how to defend herself. She wants to help him deal with the past by creating a present with a future. Together, they find the home possessed with more than just his bad memories. Attached is the detailed summary. We want to show this man in anguish, sitting in his army fatigues, shirt off, with his knees drawn up to his chest and clutching his head with both hands as he is terrorized by his thoughts. In the background are scary woods with jagged trees, all in a bluish-purple light. A demon, in the form of scary eyes or whatever terrifying creature the creative wishes to create, is possibly seen in the shadows. Other scary creatures in the movie include a mutant wild boar and a pack of mutant, scary dogs. The female lead, Sasha, may or may not be present.
Top 3 Things
Anxiety, terror, foreboding.
Attached are some sample ideas. I don't want to see too much detail in the demon. It should be dark and largely undefined for the most part. Occult lettering can be added in the background as well.
For the Dislodged font, I have been using fonts that are psychotic or terror related - jagged, scary, yet not overdone. Must be easily readable. I have a tag line of "Haunted man. Haunted house." which we like. I want to encourage the creatives to read the script and portray what they believe would make a great poster, although our directors seem to like the elements identified in the attached file "scarywoods3" - man in anguish, scary trees, scary demon lurking in the shadows. If we select your work, we will discuss other exploitations of the design and offer you design opportunities on upcoming projects.
