What do you do?
DaySmart is a software company that develops business management software for various small businesses. For this project, we would like a software package designed for one of our products, 123Pet Software. 123Pet is used in grooming, kenneling, pet care, and veterinary businesses around the world. The employees at these businesses are typically pet care and grooming professionals.
How many sides of the package require graphics design?
six (all sides of box)
List the size requirement(s) for your package graphics design
5.25" wide X 7.5" high x 1.25" thick (included is a template to use for the box design, which includes bleed area and appropriate box shape for final printing).
What is your industry?
Grooming and Pet Business (a combination of grooming, kenneling, pet retail, pet care, and veterinary businesses)
Describe the target audience for your package graphics
Grooming, kenneling and pet business managers/owners, and/or veterinary professionals. Many sole proprietors and mobile groomers. Mix of male and female. Mostly in the United States. Age range is typically 20s-50s.
What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your package graphics design?
1. the software is easy to use and powerful 2. software is designed specifically for the pet care industry 3. the software will help the business grow and operate more smoothly
Style and Concept
What package graphics design styles do you like?
Modern take on the retro look. As far as software packaging specifically, we want something that will feature the information that we provide but isn't too cluttered. The box design should have a retro feel that matches the design of the 123Pet website and brochure.
What colors do you want to see in your package graphics design?
A clever use of pastels: blues, greens, purples, and yellows. Liberal use of browns and other earth-tones.
What colors do you NOT want to see in your package graphics design?
Nothing too bold, no neon or other excessively bright colors. No pastels that give the look and feel of a baby shower.
What adjectives should best describe your package graphics design?
Retro, fun, pet-centric, cute (but not bubblegum cute), professional
What content must be included in the package graphics design?
I have included in the materials a document to describe more details about what should be included on each side of the box.
Do you have additional info or links you'd like to share?
We are looking to promote the brand identity with the software box. Visit www.123PetSoftware.com for design aesthetics and colors that are appropriate for the brand. Also included is the 123Pet brochure as another example of color choices and design ideas.
