Our company was founded in 1936; it's a third generation family business. It's our first foray into the retail market. The tradename for the product is "Steelgard" and the formula is known as "Steelgard 1505-B". It will be sold initially over the internet at the url: www.FirearmProtector.com.
This is an industrial product that is generally used to rust protect metal parts either while the parts are being manufactured, or to protect against rust when the parts sit in inventory or on the shelf. We intend to package this product in metal cans for spraying specifically onto (and into) firearms. This product will give the firearm owner a three-in-one solution to cleaning, lubricating and rust-proofing metal parts and mechanisms in and on the gun. Currently, firearm owners use a product for cleaning shot residue from chambers and barrels, followed by a lubricant, followed by a rust inhibitor, so this will be an all in one solution.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
Sleek, professional, self-explanatory and trustworthy rolled into the logo and the label. We need "at a glance" branding that's solid and exudes confidence in the ability of the product to protect the customer's investment.
The label sizes are: 2 ounce - 3 1/4 H x 5 1/16 L
4 ounce - 4 1/8 H x 7 1/8 L
12 ounce - 5 15/16 H x 8 3/4 L.
The 2 ounce label has 5/16" overlap. The 4 and 12 ounce labels have a 5/8" overlap.
Guns are an investment, this is a protection for that investment. It's a tool and is as important to the proper function of the weapon as ammunition.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
Our target audience (no pun intended, of course) consists of hunters, recreational shooters (skeet shooters, for instance), police, military, collectors and any other subset of legal firearm enthusiast. I think the audience is generally, but not exclusively, conservative (politically), law-abiding, and family-oriented. Men and women are equally represented in the audience.
