LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

We are a fresh, creative, media team built around a well recognized leader in technology and innovation and his podcast (visit www.killerinnovations.com). The podcast has garnered a worldwide following and now has ~28,000 listeners. Our mission is to spread the word to individuals and organizations so they can learn how to use their creative ability to create killer innovations. We fulfill our mission through media such as website, podcasts, workshops, books, magazines, CDs, DVDs and public appearances. We are highly innovative and quirky yet professional and our brand identity should reflect this combination.

What is a killer innovation? A Killer Innovation is defined as significant and highly profitable departures (new products, services, selling method, marketing, etc) from current offerings or practices that is difficult to imitate. Examples of killer innovations include: Google search, ipod+itunes, etc.

What is the product/service we make available? Killer Innovation is a philosophy, methodology, tools/skills that individuals and organizations can learn, use and deploy to greatly improve their ability to create and launch killer innovations. The core methodology is built around the concept of FIRE. F=Focus your innovation search, I= Ideation by asking better questions (what we can killer questions) which creates better ideas, R=Rank your ideas to ensure you are working on the best ones and then E=Execution translates the best ideas into killer innovations.

We are different because:

- we have a unique way to unleash a persons/organizations creativity and innovation skills no matter their background, industry or geography. Where others teach/show the what of innovation, we are focused on revealing the how of innovation.

- We do this as a way to pay it forward (mentor/help others improve themselves, their organizations and their communities). As an example, we license the podcast (+100 shows in the catalog) under creative commons (non-commercial, non-derivative, with attribution).

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

A packaging design for our first CD. The CD contains two disks (~2 hours of audio) that are the core of what the Killer Innovation methodology is built around -- the concept of FIRE (see above).

The content is coming from the most popular episodes of the podcast (www.killerinnovations.com) with the intent of people giving/sharing them with others as a way to introduce them to the methodology, the podcast and the author.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

The target audience are individuals (college age and above) and organizations (corporations, non-profit, NGOs and government agencies) who are wanting to learn the philosophy, methodology, tools and skills that will greatly improve their ability to create and launch killer innovations.

Members of the target audience are looking to expand their skills and value as the world shifts from the information/knowledge economy to the creative economy.

Design needs visual/shelf appeal to both end purchasers and store buyers.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

We will want to leverage the logo design (just recently completed on Crowdspring). You should feel free to leverage elements of the logo .. at some point in the final design, the full logo should appear.

Weve also uploaded the color guide for the logo as reference. Please follow the guidelines when showing or using the logo or its elements. Use colors that go well with the logo.

We prefer the partial face photo's of Phil rather than the full head shots.

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

NOTE: Final files will need to use the templates provided including two (2) of the CD covers (since there are two disks in the CD package)

Also -- we will need what is normally shown/included in the typical CD package.

At the same time we are looking for you to inspire us with your creative genius. After all, that's why we're reaching out to you. So, we don't want to be limiting here. Please WOW!-us. Please avoid the cliches, unless done in a way that is subtle and supports the objective.
