Creative brief

The buyer added updates to the brief. Read them.

Business Name

John Galt Refining

What do you do?

John Galt Refining is a precious metals refining company, with multiple leading online metal exchange websites, and a proprietary metal exchange technology platform.

The company specializes in the online exchange of gold, silver, diamonds, platinum, and fine jewelry.

Our brands include SellYourGold.com, GoldKit.com, RecyclePlatinum.com, and Thingswebuy.com.

How many sides of the package require graphics design?

List the size requirement(s) for your package graphics design

We'd like a design for 2 sides of a Commemorative Coin.

We need a design that fits the dimensions of the 1/4 size, half dollar, and $1 sized coins using the dimensions listed here: http://www.usmint.gov/about_the_mint/?action=co...

What is your industry?

Precious Metal Refining

Describe the target audience for your package graphics

These coins will be distributed to partners, collectors, and consumers who participate in our Recycled Jewelry Programs. Our Recycled Jewelry programs, though on a small scale, help reduce the environmental and social impacts of precious metal mining around the world. We'd like the design stamped on these commemorative coins to embody that idea. The design should be clean, distinguished and have some type of eco friendly theme.

What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your package graphics design?

What package graphics design styles do you like?

What colors do you want to see in your package graphics design?

This design will be a stamp that is printed on a metal coin, so color is not applicable. Design concepts in black and white are perfectly fine.

What colors do you NOT want to see in your package graphics design?

Same answer as above.

What adjectives should best describe your package graphics design?

What content must be included in the package graphics design?

I've uploaded a set of our logos and icons that could be used in the design, although it is not imperative. As long as the text of the John Galt Refining name appears, that will be sufficient. However feel free to incorporate the icons if you feel like it.

Brief updates

By rriggin on 20-Jan-12 4:33 p.m. GMT
As part of this design project we would like to see another variation of the design in a vertical rectangular shape, to be stamped on a 1 oz gold ingot, similar to the one seen here:

By rriggin on 24-Jan-12 3 a.m. GMT
We want it to be similar to existing silver bullion formats, but make it clear we are NOT trying to replicate US currency, just creating a cool eco-friendly type of bullion that looks similar to popular sovereign coins.

Here is an example to illustrate the following items below:

Top Edge of Coin: Slogan What do we want to use? 100% Recycled Eco-Friendly Silver Bullion

Bottom of the Coin edge: 2012

Here are some additional concepts for the design that we found on shutterstock that we'd like to use as examples of what might look good. The concept of an earth in a tree is great.

http://www.shutterstock.com/s/eco-friendly/sear... - I like this one.

Eco-Friendly When You Think of Gold Think Of Green could be the messaging.

Bottom Edge of Coin: 1 OZ. FINE SILVER .999 PURE

We'd like to see what the designs look like with an alternative logo. I will upload a set of files to the brief.

We're extending the deadline for this project since we uploaded a different logo concept than what was in the original brief.
