LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
We have an app coming out that enables anyone
to sell stuff online in very few simple steps.
It provides all you need to start selling in 15
minutes, but no features that distract.
You get your own website/domain with all the
cart, payment, email newsletter etc already setup.
It makes "Selling Stuff Online" easy for everyone.
Not a full blown shop systems, but selling 1-10
products, managing your email newsletter & member
area as well as a blog for customer-communication.
Everything is built for fast setup and later
customizability (if that's even a word...).
We have a development title "10MinuteWeb",
but we're not completely happy with it.
It misses the "commerce" part.
We'd more like a name that brings the
personality of the thing to mind.
Same way as "Basecamp", "Campfire" etc are
perfect names for what the apps do.
Question then is:
Which situation/setting/etc that everybody knows
describes what our app is going to do for you?
-makes you money
-is easy to setup
-is fast to setup
-does the tech stuff for you (the analytics as well)
-provides your customers' memberarea
-does the payment-handling for you
-handles your sales-process for you
-is point&click, drag&drop mostly.
...in an easy-to-use environment.
We did - on purpose - scale down feature
set compared to the most popular online
shopping carts out.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
We need a name for the App! :)
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
Small business owners or starters as well as stay-at-home mom's with 1-10 products to sell.
Ebook authors, software developers, video-course creators, etc. Mostly digital product-sellers.
People who struggle with FTP, HTML and their friends.
WE LIKE THESE EXAMPLES:
not commerce-related, but as mentioned:
campfire - great name describing personal, friendly, progressive discussions (is a chatroom)
coda - a programming app for coders
writeroom - a simple app for focused text-writing
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE THIS IN OUR PIECE:
The name should be describing a setting/situation/scene that many people have an immediate image in their minds and that then relates to what our app can do for them.
it can be descriptive too, like "coda" (mentioned above)
No hype, not the word "commerce" or "shop" in the name.
