What does your company do?

We sell telemedicine services to insurance companies, unions, self-insured employers and other organizations. These customers then offer our telemedicine services to their members or employees/employees families either for free or for a small out-of-pocket co-payment.

We help our customers promote our telemedicine services to their members and employees/employees families as a cost-effective alternative to expensive emergency room visits for minor illnesses.

Do you require that a .COM or other URL be available for the new name?

Yes, the name must be able to have a .com domain. We do not want to use hyphens or underscores. It can have a prefix or suffix (such as my or online) included in the name to get the domain. If the domain name is not currently available but is for sale, we would still be interested. If you are adding a prefix or suffix to the proposed name in order to meet the .com domain requirement, please provide both the proposed company name and the proposed domain name(s).

While our customers are insurance companies, unions, self-insured employers and other organizations, the target audience for the company name is ultimately the end-user/consumer. In this sense, the company is both a business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) business. This group includes people who have insurance coverage through our customers (insurance companies, unions or self-insured employers).

The end-users/consumers of the telemedicine services are individual patients. Services are provided via the telephone or videoconference by board-certified physicians 24 hours per day/365 days per year. Patients use telemedicine services for:

Advice (for example, whether they need to go to the emergency department immediately or they can wait to see their primary doctor or they can receive a diagnosis immediately over the telephone or videoconference)
Consultations (often called consults) on a wide range of medical conditions
Prescriptions (refills or new, as determined through the consultation)

Do you have other info you want to share?

Consultations are currently via telephone or videoconference, but a secure online chat option will be added in the future, so we prefer not to limit the name to telephone/videoconferencing only.

While its important that we have a website with a .com domain for patients to access, we will also be promoting the services offline (for example, through wallet-sized membership cards, refrigerator magnets and other tangible promotional items). We specifically chose the Company Naming category rather than the Domain Naming category, because the name will be used for more than just a website presence. We prefer a name with offline potential (especially as it relates to a logo, which will be developed in a separate project).

Prior to releasing the award payment, we will need a completed/signed W9 form from the person who submitted the winning entry.
