What does your company do?

It is a software development company with two distinct product lines. One is for financial commodities traders and consists of both desktop applications as well as software as a service web-enabled applications. The other is a set of applications to assist lawyers in drafting and in a online website dedicated to aiding in computerized research and analysis in the area of trademark law.

Each software as a service or website will be under its own distinct brand name (which will be a subsequent project to come up with that name)

Do you require that a .COM or other URL be available for the new name?

Yes - there must be an available .COM name. Also, must not be registered with the USPTO.

One product line is geared towards commodities (specifically Foreign Exchange, but our software can be used for other trading instruments), and the other is geared more towards legal customers, including law firms, in-house counsel and paralegals.

What 3 things do you want your company name to communicate to your customers?

We have a dedication and desire to both give back to the software community thru providing open source versions of several of our products and relying on open standards. At the same time we want to demonstrate a commitment to security since both target audiences are likely concerned with security and scalability.

Really any software developers, but on the legal side Trademarkia.com comes to mind (although that is just one of our products that is still not yet complete).
