Business Info

What does your company do?

We are a startup that is designing a product that will cater to operators of server clusters. This includes companies like Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Rackspace, Yahoo!, Pinterest and Twitter. These companies operate thousands of servers. Our product collects and analyzes data from these servers. It generates reports and on configuration, failure rates and alerts when problems arise.

There is a community component of our product. As the number of servers we monitors grows we will allow our customers to anonymously share their operational data with each other. This will allow customers to compare their performance with their peers in the industry and learn what the optimal settings are for their servers.

Do you require that a .COM or other URL be available for the new name?

We strongly prefer a .com name although we are willing to considers other if the name and URL is compelling enough.

Do you have other info you want to share?

I like names that describe company functions at a high level. For example: DropBox, a box where you drop your files, photos, videos etc...
Lyft is a great name (http://www.lyft.me/) it describes what the company does (need a lift) although I am not a huge fan of misspellings in names.
Nest (http://nest.com/) - Products to make you comfortable and safe in your home (nest).
