ABOUT THE PRODUCT FOR WHICH WE NEED A NAME - BELOW REFERRED TO AS "VIRTUAL TOWN HALL":
The Virtual Town Hall, like many innovations, was born out of extreme adversity. Building on the work we did with companies through the terrorist attacks of 9/11, the economic crisis of 2008 and other critical situations in which we continue to refine our SuccessDNA (see our Culture of Opportunity process above) to support our clients and partners. Working with clients who had to quickly adapt to the new conditions under COVID-19, we have learned a great deal about what leaders and their people can do to be safe and productive in a way that is sustainable and resilient as new conditions arise. All of what we have learned has been used in the development of the Virtual Town Hall. Because of our core value of co-creation with our clients, Virtual Town Halls will continue to evolve.
The COVID-19 pandemic has forced people to work closer together while being physically further apart. Our society has undergone and continues to undergo an extreme and rapid change. Each day we experience so much and so much is demanded of us, we can easily become stressed and overwhelmed.
If we don’t reflect on the day and identify, express and gain perspective on it, our experiences get buried in our psyche and in our body. Unexpressed experiences often result in higher levels of stress, various physical symptoms, emotional problems, and illness. By contrast, when we do process our experiences, we can use each day as an opportunity for learning. We can improve our skills and increase our sense of gratitude and perseverance.
One of the best ways to process our experiences during these challenging times is with the groups with which we are most connected: our families, our communities and our work teams.
In the Virtual Town Hall(s), each of us will have an opportunity to share how the situation is affecting us and how we can help each other. Virtual Town Hall is a simple yet powerful tool to support organizations and their people in times of extreme disruption. It is designed so that members of a client's staff can be trained to facilitate a Virtual Town Hall. It is scalable with minimal cost and maximum flexibility.
A summary outline of the program is as follows:
1. Brief assessment: to identify clients' specific needs so that Virtual Town Hall can be customized.
2. Kick off sessions and training for the co-facilitators / leaders at the client organization.
3. 4-8 Virtual Town Hall sessions with debriefs after each one.
4. Review, recomendations and possible additional training for the client to carry on with Virtual Town Halls in the organization with Opportunity Lab only supporting the process.
The audience for this product offering would be mid-sized companies with employees in multiple locations and/or in various levels of remote working. The industry does not matter, although as a company we are focused on conscious business and companies with a social impact mission.
