What does your company do?
We are a new Skincare company getting ready to launch products on Amazon from facial moisturizers, toners, serums, masks, anti-aging creams, etc.
Do you require that a .COM or other URL be available for the new name?
I will accept a .com with an acceptable variation on the exact name
What is your industry?
Describe your customers
Our target demographics are primarily women between the ages of 25-65+. There are many levels of quality in products. From inexpensive (found in your local drug stores) to expensive (found in high end spas and esthetician offices). We are looking to provide a premium product at affordable prices, targeting the majority that can afford such products.
Even high earners see great value and the level of quality in our products, even though they are not paying the high prices that they are used to paying. However, the average income earners are our primary market.
This market cares about their skin & the way that they look and will pay a bit more as long as the perceived value (name branding & logo) and quality are there.
Lastly, we will be selling exclusively on Amazon right now. Statistically, Amazon shoppers are more in tuned with quality over price. There is also a growing number of high income earners shopping on Amazon as well.
What 3 things do you want your company name to communicate to your customers?
Sophistication - It's that perceived value and quality that needs to come from the name
Quality - The name needs to convey a level of quality. There are certain names out there that have this perceived quality. For example: Nivea...It's unique, sophisticated, simple and conveys to me a level of quality.
Results - When consumers spend money on our products, they feel confident they will see the results they are after.
List the names of your top three competitors
Oz Naturals - They are a big contender in the Amazon.com market. Do a search and you will see that they are currently #1 in all of the Beauty category.
SkinCeuticals - This is a very large company and owned by Laureal.
Style and Concept
What character, tenor, or spirit do you wish to convey?
We are trying to convey sophistication, refreshing, clean, quality, uniqueness, perceived value.
Are there specific words or phrases you like?
Again, we are looking for uniqueness here. I don't want to put a few different words and that is only what people are sending. Get creative with the name. It MUST be short in length. It can be a single word. It can be a word in French, as long as it makes sense in relation to skincare and it must be phonetically pleasing to say. ie. Nivea
Are there specific words or phrases you do not like?
This is a difficult question to answer. I would say that we do not want a generic looking name.
Do you have other info you want to share?
One of the MOST IMPORTANT elements in coming up with a name for us is that you must do the research to ensure that the Trademark is NOT taken and has the potential to be Trademarked. Here is a link to the USPTO website to do your search: http://www.uspto.gov/trademarks/index.js.... Click on the Trademark Electronic Search System (TESS) link.
In addition, the .com must be available for me to award a winner. However, if the Trademark is available and there are no conflicts, but the .com is taken, I may consider, as long as the site owner is willing to sell to me.
Just open up your creative juices with this contest. I want a name that is short, easy to spell and easy to remember. This is a brand and it has to be memorable. I want sophistication, youthfulness and a name that when you hear and see it, it feels like we are a large skincare company.
If you have any questions, I am here to help you. Please have fun and may the best name win. Good Luck Everyone!!
P.S. I have included a sample of our company logo with a name that we were unable to Trademark. Hope this may spark some ideas.
