What does your company do?
We sell and service copiers and laser printers. We service just about any brand but only sell Canon copiers and HP laser printers
The industry over the past 5 years has moved from just copiers and laser printers to multifunction devices that provide scanning, fax, printing and collaboration tools. Clients now want devices that connect the device to their entire office and color printing is also a big thing.
During the past year or so, a new development called Managed Print Services has hit the industry. This is a way for companies such as mine to go into an office and analyze ALL of the clients printing needs and provide a much broader scope of services. An example would be that I have a client who uses my services for their copiers. I now go in and analyze everything they are printing with/without my equipment and bring the entire office under my umbrella and consolidating their printing needs. Hence, getting rid of 20 under used laser printers and bringing in 5 higher capacity printers. The big thing that we do is provide all the equipment a client needs at little or no charge and invoice the company a small amount per page printed, saving the large upfront capital investments in equipment.
We are a very small company that has been in business for 20 years. Google Managed Print Services and you'll see what we do. This is a huge thing now. Hence a name that was MPS would be cool as well. There is a company her called MaPS that does managed print. The name is Mid America Peripheral Suport. Don't really care for the name, utilizes the MPS though.
Do you require that a .COM or other URL be available for the new name?
Yes, I will consider options though.
What is your industry?
Office Equipment Sales, Service, Supplies and Rentals
Describe your customers
My clients are typically printers, attorneys, accountants, industrial, doctors, hospitals and anyone who uses a copier or larger printer. My client is NOT someone who purchases their copier at a office supply store.
What 3 things do you want your company name to communicate to your customers?
Technical, high tech
Of course, what we do.
Easy to work with
Style and Concept
What character, tenor, or spirit do you wish to convey?
Business like, professional and maybe a little fun
Are there any words or phrases you especially like or hate?
Just saw bmisystems.com. Don't care much for the name. Kind of always liked ImageNet. Problem with using image or imaging is that people don't know what your imaging, in a hospital MRI or what. I do like the tag line they have, 'managing your documents' lifecycle'.
I don't want to say necessarily copiers because that's not all we do, but it is a big part of what we do and most people see us as the copier company. Make sense?
Do you have other info you want to share?
I will be very active in the process. I am very excited about a new same. Thanks in advance for your help!!!
