Business Info

What does your company do?

The Nevada Secretary of State is the filing office for all corporate entities in Nevada, as well as for payment and issuance of the annual state business license. We are seeking a new brand for our "Nevada Business Portal" which is currently under development.

The "Nevada Business Portal" (working title) is a one-stop shopping concept for business to government (B2G) transactions. The concept is analogous to amazon.com, wherein a consumer can conduct transactions with multiple vendors through a single site and process payment for all services in a single online payment through a unified shopping cart. The Nevada Business Portal will allow business to conduct all of their licensing and regulatory transactions with multiple agencies at various levels of government through the portal. Businesses will be able to create and maintain a profile which will eliminate the need for redundant forms at multiple agencies, and make payment online. For example, a small business including a sole proprietor could get its city and county business licenses, registration of commercial vehicles through the state DMV, or other privileged licenses from various agencies all through one website portal.

The portal will provide efficiencies to both the agencies and the businesses.

Do you require that a .COM or other URL be available for the new name?

We are looking for a url in both the .com and .gov domains.
.biz is an option we might consider.

What 3 things do you want your company name to communicate to your customers?

1. business friendly and ease of use
2. high tech- using latest web applications/services
3. provided by the State of Nevada

List the names of your top three competitors

There are none. In fact, when complete, the portal will be the most advanced resource of its kind in state governments. This is a collaborative effort of multiple state of Nevada govenrmental agencies.

Style and Concept

What character, tenor, or spirit do you wish to convey?

We want a high-tech look that doesn't scream "government" while at the same time doesn't look too commercial or "private sector". We want businesses of every size (this includes sole proprietors)to see this as an extremely convenient, business friendly, and secure service.

Are there any words or phrases you especially like or hate?

We want to get away from the traditional government model of creating a name that's an acronym...but we want the name to be fairly succinct. "nevada" is fine, but "state" probably not. Words that immediately identify it a user friendly online resource are best.

Do you have other info you want to share?

1. create a portal profile
