Business Info

What does your company do?

Red House is a 235-person all-ages music venue in Walnut Creek, CA, a suburb of San Francisco/Oakland.

We have historically focused on the following types of bands:

2/3rds local bands, 1/3rd touring bands
Genre: Rock, Metal, Punk and Hard Core
Audience: 17-20 Years Old

Red House is also a music school. More info is available at www.redhouselive.com.

We're posting on CrowdSpring because we need a name for a new Monthly Electronic Dance Music (EDM) Series we're launching - also know as a RAVE! It's a different genre from our core business, so a need a differentiated name.

Do you require that a .COM or other URL be available for the new name?

We'd like a unique Facebook page name (e.g. facebook.com/[name]).
A URL is not required, but would be a bonus.

Entertainment and Sports

Describe your customers

17-23 year old party goers, who love to get dressed up and dance.

What 3 things do you want your company name to communicate to your customers?

1- It's a Party.
2- It's the place to be - with lots of good lookin rave girls (Google Rave Girls for visuals).
3- The producers/DJs and light show are high quality - this is no house party.
...and did we say it's a Party?

List the names of your top three competitors

WOMP (https://www.facebook.com/WompEvents and https://www.facebook.com/WOMPWednesdays)
TORQ - (http://torqsf.com)
EPR (Electronic Pop Rocks) (https://www.facebook.com/ElectroPopRocks)

Style and Concept

What character, tenor, or spirit do you wish to convey?

...and did we say it's a party?

That's the main objective - super fun, thumpin' music, good-looking people, killer vibe.

Are there any words or phrases you especially like or hate?

We'd like a fun, short single word for the name - like our competitors WOMP and TORQ. 'Blow-Up' is another local event with a good name. We're not particularly fond of acronyms, unless the word itself turns out cool.

Do you have other info you want to share?

Red House historical branding has focused on 'authenticity' - local bands, playing original music. Imagery has been gritty, vintage. See www.redhouselive.com for examples.

Most dance parties look ultra-modern, with lots of neon and polished fonts. It would be interesting if the name could accomplish both vibes - 'authenticity' and the rave scene.
