Business Info

What does your company do?

We are not a company but an apartment complex in Las Vegas. We have 190 units (mix of 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom) apartments in 14 low-rise buildings on 8 acres, plus a pool, BBQ area, mini soccer field and tennis court set in nicely landscaped grounds. We are located in an urban neighborhood fairly close to the Las Vegas strip, convenient to public transport, shopping and jobs.

Do you require that a .COM or other URL be available for the new name?

We will probably have a website but it is not critical (and highly unlikely) that the name of the building be available as a domain name.

Target Audience

What is your industry?

Long-term (12-month leases) apartment rental (not short-stay rentals).

Describe your customers

Low- to mid-income; mix of white, black and Hispanic; mainly blue-collar jobs, eg hospitality, construction, retail, etc; mix of families and singles, young and old

What 3 things do you want your company name to communicate to your customers?

(1) A great place to live; (2) Good features -- roomy apartments (generally bigger than the competition), comfort/amenities (including in-unit washer/dryer, unlike competitors with separate common laundry rooms), location/convenience, safety/security; (3) Value for money -- not the cheapest, but priced in line with competitors while offering better amenities/security

List the names of your top three competitors

The names of some of the nearby competing apartment buildings include: Barclay Square, Villas at Desert Pointe, Pinewood Apartments, Parkview Pointe, Rainwalk, Maryland Park, Fleur de Lys, and Sierra Vista Square

Style and Concept

What character, tenor, or spirit do you wish to convey?

That we care about the local community and neighborhood, and that we value our residents and want to provide them with the best possible place to live.

Are there any words or phrases you especially like or hate?

Try to avoid generic names like "la", "vista", "rancho", "casa", "el", "vegas", or "via". Given the mixed tenant base, open to Spanish names but probably prefer English since 70%+ of the residents are white or black rather than Hispanic.

Do you have other info you want to share?

The name should be 1-2 words (maybe 3 if exceptionally compelling), not too hard to spell or pronounce, able to fit on signs/banners, and ultimately compatible with a nice logo, design of which will be our Phase 2 CrowdSpring project.
