What does your company do?
We are a small, but growing, investment management firm. We invest in Technology companies. We are a group of experts in the technology space and leverage our years of experience and wisdom to make our investment strategy strong. We invest in companies that we see as disruptors - those who bring about new ways of doing things that are in demand to large markets.
Do you require that a .COM or other URL be available for the new name?
I will accept a .com with an acceptable variation on the exact name
What is your industry?
Describe your customers
Our clients are our investors, those who trust us to invest their money wisely and earn them a great return. They are often institutional investors, so there is a certain level of 'seriousness' that needs to be met (ie no 'Blue Lizard Capital'....). That said, it doesn't need to be boring....
What 3 things do you want your company name to communicate to your customers?
Technological innovation (or just innovation), strength, adventure (I should add that it needs to meet one, not all three simultaneously. If 2, great. If 3, we won't stop you....)
List the names of your top three competitors
We really can't do that:(
But think of Tech focused investment mgmt firms.
Style and Concept
What character, tenor, or spirit do you wish to convey?
Adventure / pioneer / explorer feel (ie uncharted territory, new innovations, etc.)
'Strong' name (ie 'Gibraltar' over 'Belvita'). Want it to inspire confidence.
Are there specific words or phrases you do not like?
No specific words, but main thing we DON'T want is to sound like a creative services firm or an IT shop with a name that is trying to be too 'directly' descriptive - (e.g. "Leading Edge", "Advantage Partners", etc.)
Are there specific words or phrases you like?
We like ski terms (although this is no way is tied to tech, I know, and is not a requirement). Many of these are taken. We like 'Tuckerman Capital' (ski spot in New Hampshire) (already taken), Alpine Partners (taken), Camber Partners (taken). But if you can find a ski run / peak / mountain, etc that works for a strong name and isn't taken by either a 'Capital' or 'Partners' suffix, then pls submit.
Adventure terms: We like "Endeavor", "Magellan", "Pioneer", things like this.
Innovation (including but not limited to tech) terms: Having trouble here, which is why I'm passing this on to you guys.....
Do you have other info you want to share?
Whatever we come up with will most likely have a "Partners" or "Capital" Suffix, or potentially "Capital Partners", so pls keep that in mind.
PLEASE google before submitting as yo'd be amazed how many of these names are taken. In some cases it may be ok if, for example, you come up with a name and one of the above suffixes is taken and the other is not, as long as the one that is taken is not a huge, well known firm.
ALSO feel free to venture outside of these criteria if you have a good strong name. Even if it's just a cool, strong sounding street name around you or something from a place of unexpected inspiration.
