Creative brief

The buyer added updates to the brief. Read them.

What do you do?

iPad Kids Game/Edu-tainment app developer

Business Name

Robert Dupuy

What is your industry?

Software and InfoTech

Describe the target audience for your icon design

Children and parent's of children. Standard purpose of the icon is that when someone is on iTunes doing a search, and your app comes up in the search results - the user will choose which product to look at basically based on the icon and nothing else. So the icon must look professional, fun, and hopefully entice the user to choose your app for consideration.

What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your icon design?

I want it to look fun and be easy to understand at a glance that its a horse, and for it to look highly designed, of course. The game is a card game for kids, a vocabulary builder, and it features animals.

I've seen somewhere a pegasus that looks like its jumping.

How many different icons do you need designed?

Do you have specific size requirements for the icons?

1024 x 1024

What icon design styles do you like?

Probably a little cartoony, if you can do it, second choice is more realistic.

What colors do you want to see in your icon design?

I like making the horse white.

What colors do you NOT want to see in your icon design?

What adjectives should best describe your icon design?

fun, intelligent, appealing, professionally designed

Do you have additional requirements or links you'd like to share?

I want it to specifically be a horse that looks like its jumping out of the icon.
Also this is a card flip game, so I want the icon to look like a flip card. So a horse jumping out of a flip card icon - that's the idea I have for it.

I've added some small screenshots to the materials section to show you the current state of the app.

I purposely didn't do that at first, because - all this could change, the point of the hiring of artists is to change it.

However, for the purpose of better communicating, let me keep adding material and information to this project.

The current icon and home screen are a combination of public domain vector art - and art I personally did, even though I'm not an artist. The horse that you see in the screenshots is public domain art.

The rest is what I did personally. I definatley would rather own my own horse, than to use public domain art.

OK - so what I don't like about this result, is the horse looks funny, the background looks like a child drew it, and the colors are hokey.

But what I do like about the original result, is I like the idea of a horse appearing to come out of a flipcard - and that is what I want as the icon still.

The icon should appear to be a card - like a poker playing card, background with white edges. Or - it doesn't have to be exactly that, if anyone would agree what you've done is a flip card look, then use your judgement.

Also the horse coming out, I want it to look like its jumping out. You probably won't see the back hooves of the horse. Probably just the head and part of the body and the front hooves. You'd probably even see the bottom of one of the hooves. I'm thinking the horse would be in an isomorphic view, rather than direct on.

Well this horse will appear in the game too - ideally.

And now I feel I'm being far too specific, I'm just trying to give you the thoughts inside my head, in order to establish the basic idea of what I'm looking for, but ultimately I'll select the best submission, as long as its better than what I have now, it should be likely that I'll get something better than what I have now.

OK - good luck, thanks for the entries.

I'm not looking for a Pegasus, but people tend to pose a pegasus in the hooves up, jumping position.

I don't need to see the whole horse. Just making it like it's exploding through the card - hoove and head out...lol, this is my first time on crowdspring or buying art, can you tell?

OK, that's all the updates for today. Thanks again.
