Business Info

Business Name

Dunmore Aerospace

What do you do?

We are a manufacturer of space material, largely thin films, tapes, and fabrics that are used in aircraft and spacecraft insulation. (a.k.a. the gold shiny stuff you see on the outside of many satellites and spacecraft and the interior and insulation films on aircraft.) We are hosting a STEM event where high school students design an experiment for the ISS with the guidance of industry experts and astronauts. The winner of the design competition gets their experiment sent to the ISS.

List the size requirement(s) for your clothing design

This is going to be a logo used on the web as well as made into a real mission patch. The design requirements are pretty wide, so long as the concept looks like a traditional NASA mission patch.

Target Audience

What is your industry?

Education and Universities

Describe the target audience for your clothing design

The target is the students and participants in the event, high school aged students interested in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. The design needs to be visually appealing as well as eye catching. It needs to sum up the event in one simple logo.

What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your clothing design?

The History of the greater Philadelphia area; specifically Washington crossing the Delaware river or some other historical Bristol visual
The International Space Station (ISS)
The US Flag in full color

Style and Concept

What clothing design styles do you like?

Space Mission patches, I prefer round mission patches with a bold border

How many colors should be used in the design?

I think 5-10 colors should be sufficient. As this is going to be a real patch, contrasting colors are best.

What colors do you want to see in your clothing design?

Shades of blue, as both Dunmore Aerospace and the host of Go For Launch, Higher Orbits, have blue in their logo. And of course, red, white and blue for the flag.

What colors do you NOT want to see in your clothing design?

No gradients or fine details, all colors are okay

What adjectives should best describe your clothing design?

Inspiring, exciting, historical

How will you use the clothing design?

On webpages and press releases as well as to be turned into a real fabric mission patch.

What must be included in the clothing design?

Go For Launch, Bristol, PA, and an area for the date (whether that is DD MM YY or just MM YY)
