What is the exact name you would like in your logo?

What is your industry?

What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo?

The logo being designed will represent a line of sound suppressors. The logo should emote the following attributes and feelings.

1. Luxury / high-class products - YHM sound suppressors are quality-machined. We want them to look expensive and highly desirable to our customers. Think Porsche or Rolex in the sense that they are aspirational brands.

2. Mystery / Film Noir - the advertising pieces and photos of the products will very much capture the look and feel of these type of images - B&W, high contrast, heavy lighting, glossy sheens.

What logo styles do you like (image + text, image only, text only, etc.)

The logo should appear:
1. Dark
2. Clean
3. Sinister

Yankee Hill Machine is a third-generation, family-run Massachusetts business designing and manufacturing quality firearms, firearms accessories and sound suppressors. For the past few years, we have been going by the name "YHM" - you can find our company logo here: www.yhm.net. Note that we consistently use the letters "YHM" in the logo along with the tagline "Exceeding Expectations."

The logo being designed in this project will represent the Sound Suppressor line which will be marketed as its own stand-alone company and brand in the coming year. In addition to the new logo, this line will have its own color palette and font. We have been using the tagline "Silencing the Competition" in our advertising pieces.

We expect both YHM "divisions" to have their own identity and style, but it's important that the two logos are somehow unified for brand recognition and because there will be times when the two logos appear together or even alongside each other - in print, on the web, at tradeshows, etc.

Customers who will be buying YHM sound suppressors include law enforcement officers, hunters and "gun enthusiasts". The pricepoint of each product put them above entry level products but below top-level. Customers who are purchasing suppressors are not beginners - they have researched the product, the competition, and are making an informed purchase.

Note also that the logo must translate well in various forms as it will appear in print, on the web and at times, embroidered or screen printed on clothing and merchandise. With that said, it's important that the logo appears 3D rather than 2D with depth and perspective achieved.

Here are three of our competitors. You should be mindful not to replicate the look and/or feel of their logos or color palettes.
