Distressed homeowners at risk of foreclosure. Demographic is culturally and economically diverse.

Private investors: Non institutional investors of varying levels of sophistication. This ranges from individuals with annual incomes of $150,000 and above who are in search of an alternative to conventional investment vehicles to seasoned real estate investors with $5 million plus to invest.

What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo?

Innovative and insightful.
Slightly contrarian/unconventional in relation to finance industry and typical real estate services.
Ability to deliver relief to distressed homeowners and solid opportunities for investors.

Style and Concept

What logo styles do you like (text only, image only, text and image, etc.)?

Text and Image.
First preference: Image combined with business name. Tag line not in logo.
Open to logo concept in an image/letter combo where business name and tag line are independent from logo. The advantage here is that the logo would have potential for wider applications.

What colors do you want to see in your logo?

No more than two colors

Stong masculine primary color in order of preference;
Forest Green
Crimson (deep red/brown)
Navy blue.

I am not a color expert so please advise as to best match for secondary color.

What colors do you NOT want to see in your logo?

Pastels, though the right feminine secondary may work.

Where will your logo be used (print, website, etc.)?

Print, Web site, Signage.

Whelan Properties, LLC is a start up real estate investment business in Greater Boston, MA USA. It will be a one person operation during its first year of operation. Multiple strategies will be used to provide relief to owners of distressed residential properties (1-4 unit properties) and negotiate loan workout and acquisition plans that will avoid foreclosure.

The primary marketing/prospecting methods to distressed homeowners will be direct mail with internet backup. Contact with other target audiences will be a combination of individual mail, internet and personal networking.

I am looking for a logo that will distinguish me from other run of the mill real estate companies. My background is in community/urban neighborhood redevelopment. Yes I really do care.
-House pictures, keys and handshakes not OK.
-Contrarian message is appreciated.
-Clean and business like.
-Less is more.

Attached link below was a do it yourself logo with a limited software program. I kind of liked the linear ascent of the roof line that suggested hope and evoked a residential image without a house picture. It could even be more subtle. What would Picasso have done?
