LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

Given that less than 20% of all youth sport coaches are female, we are developing an educational series for women who coach sports at the youth and interscholastic levels. The purpose of the series is threefold:

1. To provide cutting-edge, research-based educational workshops for females who coach at the interscholastic and youth levels

2. To provide an opportunity for female coaches to build community, network, and develop on-going support for each other throughout their coaching tenures

3. To attract, develop, and retain diverse female coaches

The series is a collaborative outreach project of two entities at the University of Minnesota- 1). the Tucker Center for Research on Girls & Women in Sport (www.tuckercenter.org) and 2). the Minnesota Youth Sport Research Consortium (www.MNYSRC.org).

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We need a logo that will help identify and brand this educational series moving forward. It will be used on promotional materials, twitter backgrounds, websites, flyers, educational materials. The Name and the Tagline may be used together or separately in the brand concept, so Id like to see concepts with name and tagline together, and just the name alone.

Name: We Coach

Tagline: educating & empowering through sport

"We" might be used later as a secondary concept for "women everywhere" but I don't want that in the logo.

This is a unique entity, to my knowledge a one of a kind enterprise.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Females who currently coach, or want to start coaching at the youth and high school levels primarily, but it may grow to include collegiate coaches as well. Youth sport coaches may be parent volunteers or paid coaches.

I want our customers to think the We Coach is a professional, research-based, University housed entity that does cutting-edge, relevant, unique educational programming that empowers women and creates community.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

Colors: see the website link for the MNYSRC.org. I'd like a University of Minnesota feel, so I want maroon, gold, dark grey, maybe a dark green or a green that works into these colors, or varieties of those colors. NO PINK.

Feeling of design: I'd like it to have a clean, modern, contemporary feel, that connotes strength & networking (connectedness)

MR YOUTH is a great logo http://www.mryouth.com/

I like circle logos or logos with circles but am open to other designs.

Fonts I like (but am open to others): Avenir Book; Myriad Pro Bold

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

NO PINK. Not sport specific or have any sport equipment (i.e., soccer ball, basketball, whistles). No "women's symbol". No Comic Sans font or derivatives thereof that look childish or script-based fonts that look "feminine" or are hard to read. No woman's body or silhouette or abstract people figures. No mascots. No U of MN or University of Minnesota.
