LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
DealJot.com, currently in development, will be a reference website for shoppers or purchasers who are trying to save money. Visitors will find articles centered around ways to save money, comparisons of products/services, as well listings for coupons, sales and discounts for online stores. Approximately 1000 of the major online stores are expected to be referenced, and it is possible will also integrate offline stores. These online stores serve a wide range of categories, from business printing to flowers. DealJot.com will also be heavily involved in social tools, allowing visitors to comment on pretty much anything and providing ways for visitors to directly influence the content of the site.
DealJot.com will cater to both consumers on their own personal purchases as well as businesses looking to save money on items such as office supplies or technology equipment. We have a budget for this new venture and the logo will be the start of this new site design. In the future, we will also need help for the webpage as a whole and more specific projects, like banners and advertisements. So, while we need a logo right now, we are also looking for a designer we can turn to for future projects.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
DealJot needs a logo that will go to the top left corner of the website. It should be clean and professional, yet creative as we want to appeal not only to businesses, but also to consumers. We dont want our site and logo to look too business like. We want our visitors to view us as a reliable source of information, but also as a fun and free place where they feel comfortable browsing around, whether for reading articles or connecting with other visitors. So, we also want to evoke a community type feeling of like minded people wanting to save money.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
General consumers and small to medium-sized businesses.
WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:
This is a previous site we have developed: http://www.selectaware.com/. We are not very fond of the design, but we do like the "cool" colors, green and blue, as well as some elements of the layout. We also like a lot of the logos for popular internet sites, like these: http://web2list.com/logos/. Another thing to keep in mind is that since this will be a site centered around saving money, we don't mind seeing designs related to that theme. But we ask not to copy elements from the SelectAware.com site, but to provide something original.
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
The logo should include the name of the website, DealJot.com, as well as some sort of style and/or icon. The logo will go in the top left-hand corner of the website. After that, we are pretty open to suggestions. As far as colors, we like "cool" colors like green and blue, but we dont mind experimenting with color palettes that would also look good for an entire website. But feel free to try something a little different and we can see what it looks like. Most likely DealJot.com will function similarly to http://www.selectaware.com/, although there will be much more emphasis on written content and community-oriented tools. But, SelectAware.com may be a good starting point if you want to know what type of content we are starting with. Definitely we don't want a logo (or eventual site) to look too similar to that though.
In general, we would like to see something clean, simple and professional, but of course creative.
We would like to work with designers submitting designs so we can come up with the best possible design together. Please get in touch with us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Don't forget, we will add more projects and awards for the website design and banner design in the future and would like to have someone in mind for such projects.
