The Television Department at Columbia College seeks a logo design as part of a rebranding of the Department's curriculum. The Department has developed the tag line "Television is evolving" in response to changes in the way in which we consume serial and episodic video content.

These industry-wide changes include

-User generated web video a la YouTube

-Tie in content that can be accessed on your ipod, cellphones and game systems

-The proliferation of screens, be they billboard scale or intimate pocket devices

-The detaching of the viewing experience from the time of broadcast via DVR systems like Tivo and/or media corp web sites with current video content.

In short convergence. We seek a logo which simply and directly evokes this sense of convergence, with a feel of motion and activity that evokes a changing and evolving set of practices. We have uploaded an image file for your reference which we use to visually represent this evolution of television (CCTV.jpg)
