LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
usermeet.com will tap into the collective brainpower of an enthusiastic user community and focus it on the incremental evolution of a project. Great ideas come from users of all persuasions, and our mission is to make it as easy as possible for everyone to contribute ideas without having to hassle with developer-oriented tools like bug tracking portals. A community will also be able to segment itself into user groups based on almost anything, allowing users to help each other and developers to better visualize their markets.
Users will benefit by increasing the odds of getting the features and improvements they want through collective bargaining (voting or pledges). They'll also be able to network and swap tips with other users in similar environments (versions/OS/platform), industries, or locales.
While forums and issue tracking portals currently help gather feedback, they're very poor at helping plot a roadmap based on cost-vs-benefit and community demand. Usermeet aims to change this.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
We need a logo that will represent this spirit of community collaboration. The logo will appear on the website, marketing material, and in the app itself. It would be great if we ended up with a logo where a mark/icon could distinguish the project without any visible text at all, that would also display well with the adjacent "usermeet.com" text. This isn't an absolute requirement.
We're willing to consider logos for "usermeet" or "usermeet.com" -- use your aesthetic discretion .
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
Our target audience for this logo will be projects (especially software projects) that are looking to collaborate with their communities based on open source philosophies (incremental development, release early/often, etc). The logo doesn't necessarily need to say something about us, but should give the impression of people coming together to improve things they depend on and care about -- where one small brilliant idea may set off a chain reaction of great ideas that build off of it.
WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:
In attached "wgm_logos.jpg", we came up with the three white silhouettes brainstorming a single thought. I like the concept but had a hard time having any text play nice with it. I definitely don't want go box designers in to that one idea, so feel free to try anything, but I liked where that was going.
I like the vibrant color and simple typography here (and the fact the non-text mark is distinct):
For the same reasons as above, I also like:
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
We definitely don't want to see recycled clipart or any photography. We need something that can display aesthetically on a white background at the top of an app, but could transplant into various color schemes on a website.
