LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
Thoughtstream is a strategic marketing and branding firm that specializes in brand strategy, portfolio management, brand equity research, brand creative, and social media consulting for companies ranging from the Fortune 500 to prefunded start-ups. Thoughtstream also serves as an incubator for innovative Web 2.0 applications/sites.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
We're looking for a logo that accurately reflects our brand positioning and brand image. We're looking for a logo that not only portrays professionalism but also exudes innovation/the cutting-edge and the playful, whimsical nature of what is Web 2.0. We would describe our brand as intelligent, evolving, inquisitive, playful, the perfect blend of art and science. Our tagline is "think / plan / create / succeed" All too often you'll hear, "big problems = big opportunities" in our presentations and internal/external meetings. We're planning on using this logo any and everywhere...from our website and blog to social media sites, stationary, PowerPoint presentations, t shirts, coffee mugs and other related swag so it needs to be reproducible.
We ask that you're thoughtful in your logo design process and do a little research to better understand our industry and competitive space. We want our logo to build trust with our audience...distinctive and unique. We also want a "strong" logo----A strong logo, like a handsome face, does not tell you whats inside; rather, it is a strong distinction amongst the masses, despite impersonation. Simplicity, typography, color, shape, and scale are important to use as well.
Our competitors - Landor, Interbrand, Lippincott, siegel+gale, Brand Institute, Addison Whitney
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
We've consulted with almost every size of company from the Fortune 500 to prefunded start-ups however we have a soft spot for fast moving start-ups like Twitter, Facebook, Mahalo, Mailchimp, etc... We cover multiple industries and verticals but lean towards technology/Web 2.0 and medical/biotech. Our team has created and consulted on some terrific brands like Microsoft Outlook and Exchange, Cadillac Escalade, Roxio, Acxiom, Siemens, Campbell's Soup at Hand, and many others.
WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:
We love a ton of the designs from logopond.com or logofaves.com. Like we mentioned earlier, professional with a splash of whimsical is what we're looking for. We like simpler fonts...anything with too much complexity doesn't excite us. We tend to gravitate towards blues, vibrant reds, grays, and hints of yellow or green (no pea green).
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
We're very open to ideas...that's why we want to see what you have to offer :) Please make sure that you read our brief completely and have a good feel for our company though. It's not a must but we would like to see some interpretation of the outline of a brain/thought bubble with a stream inside...again not mandatory just an idea.
