Who are you?
I'm the owner of a Southern California Based tech support company and we are rebranding. We were initially founded as an audio editing/recording company but have moved almost entirely into technology support and consulting. The new company name will be "Tech90" and the idea behind the name is the mathematical idea of 90 degrees and helping our customers turn the corner away from the typical idea of computer and technology support.
What do you need?
Currently we are looking at exclusively a logo to get us started with the website design and layout. I like gradients and greys, but I'm open to color selection. I like muted colors/greys with a single highlight color. Currently we utilize red as at that highlight color, but am open to more soothing color combinations. It should be able to be simplified for print and letterhead use (this project is only for the logo, not for the letterhead). The logo should represent the idea stated above, and also be modern looking. I prefer typefaces like Century Gothic (simple and elegant, easy to read and modern looking).
Who Is Your Audience?
Both small businesses and home users. We want to feel approachable from all avenues but we are really not targeting medium and large scale businesses at this time.
We Like These Examples
I hate the cloud, love the use of the "turning the corner" motif with the type turning the corner.
Also look at the attached stage6logo.png, I really like that. Obviously, the work shouldn't duplicate that, but that is the type of idea I'm going for.
We Absolutely Must Have
Spelling of the Company name: Tech90
Despite the fact that we like the geometric theoretical connection of 90 degrees, and turning the corner, we don't want mathematics involved in the logo at all. People don't like Mathematics, I want people to like coming and talking with us and spending time on our website. I like red and blue as highlight colors but they shouldn't be the base color as is the case in "logo_stage6.jpg" referenced above.
