Who are you?
I am the director of SWAN Services, a library service organization in Illinois that has 80 member libraries. We are going to become our own independent organization in September 2010. The service known as SWAN (System Wide Automated Network)allows our member libraries to share integrated library automation system. SWAN maintains an online consortium catalog for its 80 members. The catalog lists more than one million titles of books, periodicals, cassettes, videos, CDs, DVDs, electronic resources and other library materials. The catalog shows which libraries own a given title and if the item is currently on the shelf. Through catalog patrons can check their own accounts, place holds, track their reading history, and pay fines with a credit card.
What do you need?
We need a Drupal website logo that will reside in the top left of the site. The size should be 220-230 pixels in width by 120-130 pixels in height, but it could also be square. The logo should include some stylized swan, and the SWAN acronym in all capital letters. The acronym has changed in meaning over the 30 years of existence, but the SWAN name is constant. The swan bird image is key. There are no color requirements. We will build the website around the logo appearance.
Who Is Your Audience?
The logo will be placed on a Drupal website used to manage the support website that our 80 member customers will go to. The logo could have secondary use within the public websites we support. The other use would be in some of the documentation we create for our libraries, presentations for librarians.
We Like These Examples
The Metropolitan Library System (MLS) logo has been useful in many other ways, such as presentations and memos.
The Black SWAN image used for the Australian wine company is quite nice.
We Absolutely Must Have
A swan bird in the logo.
