LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
JayBird is an emerging sports and fitness, outdoor, active lifestyle brand. JayBird currently focuses on wireless headphones and has cemented a strong position in the market in just 2 years of launch. The next product, the BlueBuds (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BozIPFXwx...) and (http://www.jaybirdgear.com/2010) is set to be a big hit along with it's newly established partnership with USA Triathlon as the official training headphones.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
The current JayBird icon is great. It has a great style about it. In an industry that is ruled by large corporations like Motorola and Sony, JayBird stands out with a logo that you might see drawn on some kids school book. It has a tatoo-like feeling, also has a shoe-lace feel to it. It could easily be seen on sports clothing down the road.
We want to give the logo a stylized look in a new brand position we are developing (also open to consider a new font for the jaybird name below the icon).
The current brand is dark colors and techy feeling. Works really well for guys however, we wants to be light, fun and energetic, while maintaining a high quality, well engineered feeling. Why? Because there are even more girls who run than guys. They listen to their iPod and need earphones. The BlueBuds are the first bluetooth headphones that will appeal to girls (all other bluetooth headphones have been too techy and large).
Our new website design (done in house and not live yet) is fantastic. To support the fun, energetic, cross-gender feel, we just need the logo to look high-end and really sharp. Like a BMW X5. This will add the element of high quality to the energetic brand feel.
We think giving the current icon a 3D and/or metallic look might work. Kind of like the TNT TV logo shown here (http://www.tnt.tv/)
