LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
I am looking for a logo for a Web site. The vision for this site (www.richerearth.com) is to bring together the various strands of my professional life into a meaningful whole: weaving leadership, sustainability, and social enterprise. I put it this way on the site: My overarching desire -- my "BeDo" -- is to help create a society where as many people as possible can contribute to the fullest extent of their ability. To enable as many people as possible, I engage in work on leadership, social enterprise, and sustainability that expands opportunity and breaks down barriers that keep people from finding those opportunities. I use the word contribute because I believe that giving is at the root of personal and societal growth and fulfillment. To the fullest extent of their abilities gives voice to my belief that everyone has strengths and abilities and that the design challenge we face is creating organizations and systems that make it possible for that talent to be unleashed. If this is achieved, we will have a Richer Earth culturally, environmentally, and economically and thus the name for this site.
I'm going to work on the "about" page that will present my professional history as a series of lessons learned. I am writer, idea generator/shaper, speaker, event facilitator, and connector of people. You can see more about me here: http://www.linkedin.com/in/emcnulty. I also produce this Web site (logo from Crowdspring): www.executivenomad.com.
I was thinking of a straight type treatment but that may be because I was looking at the space constraints (102 x 59 pixels): "Richer" in all caps in a tall narrow font; "Earth" in all lower case in something more rough-and-tumble in front of it. Richer perhaps in white, Earth in a color. I don't want grass, dirt, worms, or anything that suggests that I'm an organic farmer (not that there's anything wrong with that:)). But I am open to your ideas and creative thoughts.
Check out the site -- suggestions for modifying the palette on the site are welcome and can be accommodated to reflect a great color choice in the logo. The initial use is just on the site though it may need to be used on a business card at some point so I want an .eps file as well as a .jpeg.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
.eps and .jpeg files of a logo. The fist use is 102 x 59 pixels for the Web.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
Executives primarily concerned with sustainability and social enterprise.
WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:
I'm a big fan of Michael Schwab but don't let that constrain you. I am looking for something a bit provocative but elegant and clean. I listen to jazz, not heavy metal -- let that be your guide.
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
The words "Richer" and "Earth" but no dirt, worms, grass, or farm animals.
