LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

The Gifford Foundation is a private foundation committed to using its financial and human resources to build the capacity of individuals and organizations and enhance the quality of life for the people of Central New York. We are launching a separate website that offers resource sharing opportunities between the nonprofits, businesses and individuals in our community. For example, organizations can post a need for computer equipment, or post a listing to sell old furniture, or even announce a fundraising event. The site is under beta testing now but the listings can be viewed at www.giffordslist.org. Our intent is to not only provide additional sources for materials for the nonprofits, but also build collaboration and partnerships.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We are launching the website on October 1 and need a logo that will be on the website, and imprinted on business cards, mugs and promotional items. It would be used as a link on our regular website. The promotional items might range in size from pens to travel mugs.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Nonprofit (501-c-3) organizations, grass roots/community based organizations, churches, businesses, individuals within a three-county area surrounding Syracuse, NY. The site will only work if it is used a great deal so we need something that excites and drives these constituents, and reminds them about the value of the sharing opportunities. In addition, we engage continuously with funders across the country and hope that this project will become a model for similar endeavors nationally.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

We are open to ideas (we like CrowdSpring's logo!). Our current logo for the Foundation is rather formal, which works for us as a corporation, but we want the new website logo to be modern, eye catching and exciting. Our colors are dark green and gold but we do not think we need to stick with those. The colors that are currently on the Giffordslist website are set by the company who has created the template so it might be a good idea to look at those.

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

We need a design that works equally well in black and white as well as color - no more than three colors. We rarely intend to add narrative to explain the website - just the web address.
