What is the exact name you would like in your logo?
Resident Electric
What is your industry?
Entertainment and Sports
What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo?
I would like to communicate a hip, retro logo for my music project (and future group hopefully) that will appeal to a hipster music community/fans likely to be in their late 20s through 30s. The logo will be used on the project's website and probably on stickers, t-shirts, posers and other merch. I will require a version of the logo both with and without a trademark symbol as I intend to trademark it to secure the band name legally. The music blends modern production techniques with synthesizer sounds from the late 70s through early 80s. A logo with an 80s, retro appearance to it would be ideal. The project's sound is similar to retro-oriented groups such as Justice, MGMT, Tame Impala, etc.
What logo styles do you like (image + text, image only, text only, etc.)
I was hoping to get a logo done that is a retro-looking alarm clock ideally with a fake wood decal on some or all sides of the enclosure with the band logo "Resident Electric" in 80s-style digital lettering/font where the digital numbers would usually be. If you have any other ideas for the image included with the logo please let me know. If you could shoot me a written idea to propose it before you start that would be great. The band name "Resident Electric" would need to be included in the logo though. The band name in the within the digital clock in my idea, therefore, would take place of the numbers that usually tell you what time it is with the band name written in the same digital lettering/font as digital numbers. I would remove the : between the hour and minute numbers and have just the band name displayed. I am looking to come up with an image that would appeal to the nostalgic sensabilities of fans who were children in the 80s and would see clocks such as this when they were growing up. I was thinking that the clock would look something like this: http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-68973964.... It might be cool if the clock were seen just ever so very very slightly above and to the side so that a bit of the top and side of the clock is showing. I imagine the logo to be the sort of thing that you would see on a t-shirt for sale at a hipster clothing store like Urban Outfitters. I would like to put it on a website, t-shirts, stickers, posters etc. Please don't directly copy the image in the attached link as it could violate the copyright that the owner of the image most likely owns. I do need the agreement between me and the artist to be a work-for-hire agreement where the artist is given the initial payment and would not receive back-end royalties. I'm busy enough that keeping financial records to pay royalties for the sales of merchandise with the logo on it would be tough to do. I apologize for that but it's just the reality of my day-to-day life. Please contact me and give me any feedback on my idea. I'm very excited to see what you guys come up with.
