Creative Brief

Who are you?

RAD Game Tools, a developer of "middleware'--tools that video game developers use to make their video games better--We have Bink a video codec, Granny 3D animation software and the Miles Sound System for controlling audio in games. Telemetry is our new game profiling tool, and IGGY is a flash-based graphic user interface for games. More detailed info can be found at www.radgametools.com

What do you need?

New logo design, probably more evolutionary from existing logo than revolutionary. Needs to look more sleek, cleaner, more up to date. Existing logo is 20 years old. Most of our product logos have been characters--in contrast we need a professional, corporate looking logo for the company ID.

Who Is Your Audience?

Game developers-predominantly male ranging in age from recent graduates to mid-50s. Highly tech oriented and skilled--they are generally high level programmers. They are not the people who sit in front of a video game all the time playing--they are the creatives (in a story telling and programming sense) who design the games.

Requirements

We Like These Examples

Simple, non-complicated designs that are not at all ornate, or overly decorative. Generally solid lines and shapes, vs. gradients (although we are open to these if they work in the logo)

We Absolutely Must Have

RAD is spelled in all caps, Game Tools can be upper and lower, or all caps. RAD should be prominent. Current trade show booth is themed Red, so probably stay with that as either a dominant color or secondary. Close to Pantone 186.
