LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
PVpower.com is the company and is in the process of being built out as an e-commerce platform for selling solar power products and educating consumers on these products. The site will carry a range of products from small garden lights and fountains to whole-home solar systems replacing and/or subsidizing traditional power sources.

We're looking to outshine these competitors, and branding is one key aspect to that strategy.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
As the first phase of the site is launched we're looking to establish a tight brand identity, starting with the logo and color palette. For this project we're looking to choose a logo (and accompanying colors) that can be used on the website (immediately) and in the future on company collateral (business cards, stationary, signage, advertising, etc.).
We'd like the logo to be explored as "pv power" and as "pvpower.com" - we're also exploring adding a tagline to help explain the name further, currently that tagline is "solar power, simplified"
Initially we're thinking that the logo should communicate "sun + green" but are open to ideas. Additionally we're seeing a few key colors in this space to explore:
- Blue/White (alt energy)
- Green (eco-friendly)
- Gold/Yellow (sun/solar)
Again, we're open to color choices, these are just the few that made sense to us, although these colors are very common within the competitive space so we need to be careful.
The logo should balance the a modern feel (the technology of the products and alt energy) with something traditional that establishes credibility and communicates a 'trustworthy' company.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
We're targeting men and women (likely families or couples) looking to upgrade their homes with "green" products, specifically through alternative energy sources. They're likely in the 25-54 age range. We see this target with a higher than average income, a group that has come to expect strong branding and positive associations with the companies they support.
Other companies and products we see our target associating with are: Apple, Lexus, Vitamin Water, REI, Honda, Mrs Meyers, Simple Shoes and The North Face.

We would like some sort of icon to accompany the logo/ be incorporated into the logo as a mark to recognize the PVpower brand.
