Describe the target audience for your logo

The location of this rental store will be on the pacific coast in Costa Rica. This is a retail store outlet that rents and sells outdoor equipment primarily mountain bikes, stand-up-paddle boards, and kayaks. A majority of our clients will be north American tourists who are active, outgoing, and adventurous. The age demographic will range from 18 to 60 years. The lifestyle of the clients will generally be one of healthy, outdoor living with a focus on adventure and new experiences. While in our store, they may purchase coffee, sodas, snacks, and sunscreen. We will also sell adventure tours from our store.

What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo?

Top three things to communicate: Active Sports Lifestyle. Focus on the 3 core sports: Mountain Bike, Kayak, Stand up Paddle Boards.

The logo must be simple, but high impact. Think Quiksilver, Rip Curl, Patagonia, North Face, Mountain Hardware. Our image is high quality, dependable, high level of service. The imagery might include elements of each of these sports. The imagery might include elements of the OCEAN and the EARTH. The words "PURA VIDA" means "Pure Life" in Spanish, and the phrase "Pura Vida" is widely used in Costa Rica to describe being content, happy, and satisfied. Use of this term is an intrinsic part of Costa Rican culture and the vernacular. The word "RIDE" is in our title because it describes riding kayaks, riding paddle boards, and riding mountain bikes.

We want to develop a strong brand that people become familiar with and identify with. A place they will share with their friends and speak about with others. We might end up with multiple rental locations in different areas of the coast.

What logo styles do you like (text only, image only, text and image, etc.)?

We would like our branding to consist of both logo and text, that can be used independently or together depending on the context.

Simplicity is important. A logo that is too busy will not work and will not be easily identifiable with our brand. The trick will be to blend a simple yet very informative logo that is unique.

We believe a strong identifying image is very important to the branding, but that the way that the text is displayed is equally important.

What colors do you want to see in your logo?

Blue, Green, Red, Black. Colors found in nature.

No particular preference. Nothing neon. Colors should balance attracting attention with being in the spirit of "Pura Vida" (Pure Life).

Color palette must be simple (no blended colors) that have a maximum of 3 colors, and an option in Black and White.

What colors do you NOT want to see in your logo?

Neons.
