LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
We are a consumer research department that resides in an automotive car manufacturer company. Our organisation is a national subsidiary/distributor of a Global company. The Research department resides within the Marketing Division.
Due to confidentiality we cannot name the automotive company, but please assume the company is Toronto Automotive. The name of the department could potentially be Toronto Research or Research Toronto. but it does not have to have Research in its name. You are encouraged to think outside the square in this brief.
Our sole purpose is to serve the Marketing division by providing consumer insights that serve in either the Marketing Planning stage or measuring the performance/effectiveness of the Marketing activity conducted.
In a company awash with data, the Research Department wants to create conversations with senior management and the Board by focusing on the information that matters most.
The research department provides the following services:
- Evaluating the Return on Marketing Investment
- Brand health trackers for parent and model brands
- Advertising pre & post market research
- Consumer segmentation
- Customer Lost Sales Analysis
- Analysis of short-term sales struggles
- Multi-sourced Key Performance Indicator Dashboards
An important difference between our department and other large companies, is we provide Marketing the evidence & confidence to have conversations with the Board of Directors and other Senior Management in a relevant & logical way.
We are a department that wants to stand out from other departments. We listen. We converse. We challenge norms. We want to be at the heart of decision making.
Our role cannot be ignored or assumed. It must be considered in decision making.
But we still want to be warm & welcoming. We can re-evaluate. We wont always get it right. We dont always have all the answers. We cant tell you what to do. But with us, you will be on the right path to success.
We are the foundation, the starting point for blue-sky thinking, brainstorming, strategic decision-making, tactical redress, etc.
Brands like us? We want to be what? What Finance is to business, what ad agencies are to Marketing, what Media is to Advertising.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
We need a logo first and foremost.
Secondly, I'd like to include development of a Powerpoint slide template (title and content master slides) and a customised font that follows this theme.
We want a design that is crisp and fresh. Professional, but not conservative. We want to give the impression that we are focussed and energetic in helping our Managers/Company make decisions.
The name can incorporate the company name (Toronto) or Research but it is not a must. A fresh approach and outside the square thinking is encouraged. We want to STAND OUT from the rest of the business. We will be noticed and valued.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
Internal; CEO, CFO, Board of Directors, Marketing Managers, Other Marketing departments. External; Ad agency partners, Medias partner, Internet partners, etc
The Research department is bringing RELEVANT & ACTIONABLE INSIGHTS to the fore. That is our core.
Beyond that, we are the Marketing department that knows the language of Business. We create the conversation with Senior Management.
