Prodigy Arcade was the winner of last month's Startup Weekend in Kansas City under the name "TutHopper." We have decided to rebrand after experiencing a lot of public mispronunciation and miscommunication with the old name.
Prodigy Arcade is a web-based academy that teaches kids age 8 to 14 the basic principles of programming and system architecture through tutorials, games, rewards, badges and more.
Prodigy Arcade is the umbrella brand of several to-be-developed educational games. The individual games will each have their own brand identities that will target various age groups and interest-sets.
There are three audiences for the brand: Educators, Parents, and Children.
The umbrella brand identity needs to speak to parents and academia. These are the people that will advocate involvement with Prodigy Arcade and the people that will introduce the games to schools. Thus the logo must show a legit and professional company. It should have an approachable and simple look.
On the other hand, the brand will house the games where kids type-in the URL and seek out challenges. So it also needs to be geek-chic and friendly to kids age 8 to 14. Another identity consideration is adult developers with kids; we presume they'll be the early adopters.
Thank you for your consideration in participating. This project will appear on Kickstarter this summer.
