LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
Shizmo Brewery is a super early stage startup Pico Brewery, meaning we make less than 10,000 kegs of beer a year, initially that would be closer to 500 kegs. We're going to be based out of the Greater San Francisco Bay area. Our focus will be on what is best described as craft beer, with a focus on unique and not currently produced beer styles, as well as lots of belgian ales, and reinterpretations of the classics. Irish reds, English pale ales, and our won very unique take on Wheat and weiss beer. All this along with offerings such as meads, and ciders.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
We're looking to have a logo developed that can be used on its own for brand identity, but at the same time should be flexible enough to be incorporated into labels, where it will take center stage, but be supported by a unique label for each beer style. This should also translate well into stationary, marketing materials, and be presentable in all media formats. Something simple that can stand on its own as well as part of a larger graphic.
We're undecided whether we want the Brewery Name, i.e., Shizmo Brewery or Shizmo Brewing Company. At this time both would be a good starting point. The word Shizmo has to be in the logo, with the others being options, about which we're undecided.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
Our market will be primarily focused on higher end bars and restaurants. The hip places that sell micro brewed and import beers. We're not looking to compete with the MEGA breweries, but find our niche in the local market. If we had to define an age bracket, it would be the 28+ plus segment. Our beers are going to be priced around the same range as your Guinness, Sierra, Dogfish head, and Boont offerings. If we had to identity the income bracket for our most sought after customers, it would be single and married people making high five figure to mid six figure incomes, with considerable disposable income.
WE LIKE THESE EXAMPLES:
Attached is the logo that we're currently using. It it a place holder, and should not be considered a starting point. We may like the crest/shield idea, but are not set on it as of yet. Some ideas are the traditional usage of images of barley, hops, and traditional brewing ingredients like water, grains, etc. Some ideas that we've had include black and white line art, gothic architecture as a logo, mountain scenes, as well as unique usage of text with simplified art, as mentioned.
For color pallets, we're undecided completely.
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE THIS IN OUR PIECE:
The word Shizmo and brewery or brewing company.
