LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
We are running the PHP UK Conference event for the fourth year, and need a logo that we can use this year (2009) and ideally in future years too.
PHP is one of the most popular server-side scripting languages used on the web. It already has a logo, which we'd like to encorporate into the conference logo in some capacity - http://uk.php.net/download-logos.php (oval not required)
The event is run by PHP London, a user group for PHP enthusiasts run by volunteers using limited funding made from previous events. This is why we are unable to pay a lot for the logo. However, we are happy to promote the designer responsible for the winning design (in our delegate booklets and on our website with title, text and a URL).
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
The logo needs to have the text 'php UK Conference' and ideally we can add the year below and/or to the right (which will still look good). The 'php' should be as with the official logo (using the Handel Gothic font, in italicised black with a white outline). It would probably be sensible for the 'Conference' to be below the 'php UK', but would be good if it also works to the right of it to give us some flexibility (ex. for printing repeated on lanyards).
It will be used on our website, partner websites/e-mails, on screens and signs on the day, and on delegate bags, booklets, badges and lanyards.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
PHP developers, managers, recruiters and event sponsors.
WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:
See above for initial guidelines. The colours of the other text ('UK Conference') can vary, and the font should be sans-serif.
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
'php UK Conference' with space to add a year (such as 2009).
