LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
The company is South Seniors (southseniors.com), a new company specializing only in high quality photography for high school seniors.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
Have fun with the letter "S" (one or two "S"s but I'm leaning toward ONE unless a design with two is particularly nice). I don't want anything clich like caps/gowns/etc. I want a very progressive design of the letter "S" that can be relevant to people 17 & 18 years old. Take a look at the site (in progress) and our work to get a feel for our style. It could trend gothic or metal (like metal ribbon or something very angular, etc) but don't limit your ideas to this if you have something better - could be a design that includes the "s" on a nice decorative plate. I do need "South Seniors" in nice, clean appropriate (for the logo design) type worked into this as well.
This logo will serve everywhere - head of the site, watermark of the images, brochures, business cards, etc, you name it, so variations in type placement are a plus.
Logo should translate well to 1 color print.
I basically want a mark that will, once my brand becomes known, will be instantly recognizable as the South Seniors mark.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
Male and female high school juniors and seniors. Mostly female, however. Parents pay, but the seniors drive the decision of who to use, so it should appeal to them first and foremost. This is a separate brand from our other photography offerings, so there is no need to water things down too much to appeal to too many people.
WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:
Completely open. Would love to see what people come up with.
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
Definitely NO clich approaches like caps/gowns, etc.
Keep it simple. Keep it edgy. Definitely can be ornate, but a simple concept/approach is best.
