LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
TruckieLoo Studio is start-up pet photography business based in a mountain town in Vermont. It's a one-woman show (run by me, Brookie). I do commissioned jobs (85% dogs, 15% cats/alpacas/horses/ect) for clients who are crazy about their animals, in the animal's natural environment (usually outside, or in their house) with a photojournalistic approach. My focus is on expression and capturing the animal's true character. I don't make them pose (although there is an occasional sit/stay)- I let them run, drool, snooze, jump, lay in mud- whatever their furry little selves feel like doing. The process starts with a 90 minute photo shoot. After processing the images, I post the images to a private client gallery, where the client can select the images that they like best. The final product of my service is high quality prints, photo books, and note cards.
TruckieLoo comes from my golden retriever, Truckie Louise. Here is a link to some pictures on my current blog of Truckie Louise, so you can get a sense for her and for my style of photography (ignore the Green Dog stuff.. I'm rebranding before I've really even gotten going- my homemade logo was garbage..)
Truckie Louise is my best pal- she goes with me everywhere and is my #1 model.
A bit about me: I'm a 27 year old photographer and dog lover (obviously). I'm outside as much as possible- playing in the mountains (when they're green and when they're snowy). I would describe myself as exceptionally calm, compassionate, and easy-going.
I plan on marketing myself through networking with local businesses in the pet industry, as well as displays/hanging shows at local cafes, art centers, and hotels. My website will provide the background for my word of mouth marketing and other references. I plan on blogging as a way to share my current work with the world.
Words I would use to describe TruckieLoo Studios:
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
I need a logo that will be used as a watermark on my photographs, for my website, for various printed marketing materials (business cards, postcards, ect). I'll have a sign someday!
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
My target audience is animal lovers- specifically dogs. These people are ages 25 - 65, both male and female. I live in a ski resort town in Vermont (www.stowe.com). My target audience is outdoorsy, and treats their pet as a member of the family. They are mostly middle/ middle-upper class who can afford a luxury service such as having their pet photographed. I want to be viewed as a professional service that values them as a client, and their four-legged friend as well.
WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:
Logos I like:
http://www.fatorangecatstudio.com/- I like the simplicity of the silhouette, and how it's in a shape. I like how the font works with echoing the tail.
http://www.ncal.com/ - I like how the different fonts work to show that it's a serious organization, but also fun/loving, since it's pertaining to animals.
http://www.yellowhale.com/- I love the colors and the clean put playful look.
http://www.orchardcovephotography.com - I love that tree. I also like the soft yet bold feeling of it.
http://www.dane-dane.com/- I like the clean feeling of this design.
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
I should first say that I'm not 100% sold on my business name being how i spelled it above. I'm leaning towards TruckieLoo Studio, but if you think it looks better as Truckieloo Studio or truckieloo studio, I would love to see it. I would like to be able to incorporate the words "Pet Photography," but I'm not sure if it's completely necessary yet.
Things I require:
-I need a logo that can stand alone as one color, but I'd like to be able to incorporate two colors.
-Color(s) should be natural, yet bold.
Things I do not like:
-Nothing too cutesy (http://www.lilcritters.com/).
-Nothing too cartoony (http://www.spiffydog.com/)
