LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
Alef (www.alefnext.com) is the online project of Birthright Israel NEXT. Bringing in the voices of Taglit-Birthright alumni and their peers, Alef addresses the news, culture, and lifestyle that surround the young adult Jewish identity.
Birthright Israel NEXT (www.birthrightisraelnext.org) inspires all Taglit-Birthright Israel trip participants and their peers to expand their connections to the land and people of Israel, to deepen their personal commitments to Jewish life, and to find or form a community where Jewish responsibility, learning, and celebration thrive.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
An icon logo to be used on www.alefnext.com based on the Hebrew letter "alef" The logo must be capable of being used independent of the banner currently on the blog (Twitter icon, facebook page profile, etc)
Blog color scheme is largely simple black and white, although we are not opposed to appropriate uses of color.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
22-30 year old Jewish young adults across the spectrum in terms of degree of observance, political beliefs, background, etc. We want to display a sense of stylish simplicity and sophistication, as well as convey the impression that we are inviting readers into a conversation, rather than simply posting stories for their consumption.
WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:
Banner and logos in the Gawker.com blog ring. (Gawker, Io9, etc)
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
The Hebrew letter "Alef". Must be scalable.
