LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
We are a new online digital publisher of Coffee table books on travel photography. our concept is simple - compelling images, high quality books that allow people to tell the story of a place; its looks, smells and sounds through the medium of photography.
Design is important to us - not whacky over modern design, but something that manages to match our contemporary/forward thinking use of online publishing, with the creative world of photography and the beauty of our finished product.
Pownall Publishing is a new company. We already have plans for a number of other companies that will be wrapped up eventually into the Pownall Group. We already have Pownall International - an offshore trading arm for marketing consultancy and services.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
A clean simple logo that can be used across a variety of mediums. eg On the Spine of the book, on the back of the book, in the published by page of the book, as wel as on the website and letterhead (these will be separate projects in due course).
The logo should be quite Web2.0 -ish - if that makes sense.
it needs to work well in colour and black and white and needs to scale easily (e.g. a round or more square container, rather than a long linear.rectangular one).
We are not after something that just says Pownall Publishing.
Design should be delivered as His res JPEG, Layered PSD and EPS.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
ANyone that loves high quality photo books.
The association with the brand is important, but it is more important that the logo meets the criteria above, so that is is usable across a range of projects and media.
WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:
www.blurb.com's logo
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
We do not want to see linear/long designs
We do not want to use only the words Pownall Publishing as text (though use of either words incorporated into a log is fine)
