LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
We are BlueInk Reviews, an online company that will be providing reviews for books of all sorts -- from how-to and technical manuals to poetry and fiction. We are hoping to position ourselves as a highly respected, credible voice of appraisal in a world where the traditional walls of publishing are coming down and not only are there fewer sources of book reviews (as newspapers and magazines go out of business or downscale) but more and more books to choose from all the time.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
We need a logo that can be used as a visual focal point on our website, as well as on our marketing materials, which may include folders containing information about our company; brochures; business cards; press releases and possibly promotional banners. We may also want to use the logo on company stationery. (In other words, it may be used in large and small formats.)
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
We are first and foremost hoping to attract the attention of authors. These will be people of all ages and all sophistication levels, some older writers who are publishing their memoirs, etc., but also 20 and 30 year olds who are writing cutting edge novels, etc. We are also hoping to attract the attention of publishing professionals and librarians who are looking for a way to filter through all of the books that are published when making decisions.

We feel that good logos so closely reflect the company's mission that it's tough to find examples of logos we would like for our company. Hope that makes sense!
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE THIS IN OUR PIECE:
The logo must use BlueInk as one word, most likely with a distinction between blue and ink in some way (either by color change or the capitalization of Blue and Ink). Reviews will be a separate word. It will also need to utlize the color blue in some way. We are looking for something contemporary and hip (in other words, not stuffy) that maintains an up-market feel (in other words, something fresh, but not too funky.) We are also looking for something that will stand out and look appealing on a website that is being designed with clean lines and white background. While we are leaning toward mostly interesting typeface and scant (if any) artwork, we would be open to incorporating artwork with the typeface if it enhances the overall appeal of the logo and isnt too distracting from the company name.
