LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
We recently posted a project for a new upscale nightclub property that our company purchased, renovated and opened in the heart of our downtown core. We are an industry leading Hospitality and Entertainment group within our city and are constantly expanding with new venues.
Our newest project is The IRON HORSE Pub. It was previously a longstanding successful pub in another busy area of the city but had declined over time due to lack of effort, upkeep and evolution of the competition. We have acquired the property and are doing a complete overhaul to the interior and exterior. The pub is to be a 'middle of the road' establishment. Lots of rock work and fireplaces but absolutely not 'high end" at the same time cater to local sports teams and surrounding industrial areas but again absolutely not below average as any regular old pub. The previous owners had the pub for 15 years and as such the clientele aged with it, our company is new and fresh and will bring a new life, a 'pub-club' atmosphere on weekends, huge focus on all sports, but still cater and be comfortable for the existing 'regulars' that frequent the pub.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
We need a logo for The IRON HORSE Pub to be used in all print, signage, promotions etc
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
As with most pubs, the pub currently caters to a wide range of clientele from 19-45/50 with the main crowd being probably 30+. Our intention is to appeal to the 19-30 market that go out frequently to watch hockey, football, ufc, etc, while still being the main and popular 'watering hole' for the surrounding community of residence of all ages.
WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:
The overall design needs to be powerful yet instantly comfortable and appealing. Many successful pubs all over our city have always associated their pub in some way with an cartoon/animated animals. A shark, cats, foxes, etc as is pretty traditional with pubs. We like that angle because some of the other pubs that depict a large cat playing baseball, or a fox wearing a football jersey etc, depicts a venue that obviously caters to sports and possibly somewhere fun to watch the game.
'Iron Horse' was a term given to the front of a train, as can be found when googling other pubs around the world named Iron Horse. Some have actual logo's of an Iron Horse or a some sort of stallion. We didn't really like either separately but were thinking of some kind of modern fusion of the two elements. We liked the idea of an image similar to the 'prancing horse' in the Ferrari logo and some sort of train element. Perhaps the prancing horse jumping out from inside an oncoming conductor? We want it to again be animated and fun, but simple and strong.
We also like the idea that automatically Iron Horse sounds like it would be a cold and steel-like logo but using more of a modern (but not too trendy) simple logo with a creative drawing/concept.
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
If you look at our nightclub project previously posted and awarded, you can see the 'style' we like. although that was an upscale project we want this to be scaled down but still fit within the image of our group of companies.
