Top 3 Things
Updated logo aim is to modernise the image of the sport.
The logo must represent cycling, the motion & action of BMX while holding a formal stance of modern professional, international and Olympic sport.
Words or adjectives to describe the logo would be cycling, speed, motion, New Zealand, strong, young yet experienced with history.
The feeling or message BMXNZ wants to convey is one of professionalism, respect, national standing, modern yet with history, cycling, cycle racing.
BMXNZ would like the logo to incorporate the key New Zealand icon of the Fern leaf (the fern leaf is a complex structure so a simplified or stylised version would be required to keep the logo clean). But can include or use separately Koru (see examples below), Southern Cross or kiwi.
BMXNZ is open to a tag line or slogan to use with or separately of the logo. The key audience will be kids but we need to appeal to serious funders & sporting bodies like UCI, Sport NZ etc.
BMXNZ has no specific idea or imagery on what is needed, but must reflect the main attributes of the sport - motion, speed, flow.
BMXNZ have no colour requirement, BUT the base colour for all BMXNZ uniforms are either black or white, so the logo must be able to sit well on both these back grounds.
